How to access internet banking
The first requirement is to have a post office account at a post office located close to you –one that has migrated into the CBS network.
It is very easy to open an account if you do not already have an existing account. Visit the post office and fill in the form to register for the Internet Banking Service. The officers at the post office are always ready to guide you through the simple process.
Processing your application usually takes around ten days, after which you need to collect your login credentials from the post office.
Convenience at your fingertips
For the first time, you are allotted an Internet Banking user-id, user password and transaction password which you are required to change immediately for your first transaction. (Subsequently, you can change the passwords frequently for safety).
Once you are logged into the portal, you can access, transact, review and manage your post office account online. In addition to transacting, you can send mails, raise inquiries and send out requests for service.
You can access account summary and details on saving accounts, Public Provident Fund (PPF) account, Term Deposits (TD), Recurring Deposits (RD) and National Savings Certificates (NSC). In case of joint account holders, the DOP acts on the instruction received first. Subsequent transaction instructions are ignored.
In case of accounts opened on behalf of minors, the account cannot be operated by the minor. The natural guardian operates the internet account with limited transaction rights.
