What is Internet Banking?
Interest Banking is a service for your convenience. It gives you anytime, anyplace access to your post office account. You do not have to walk to your post office counter or stand in long queues. You can do your banking from a laptop or computer with an internet connection from the comfort of your home or office.

Do I need to have an account with the Post Office to use the service?
Yes, you need an account and it is very easy to open one. Just go to any post office that has a Core Banking Solution or CBS network to open your account.
How long does it take to open an account?
Processing an application takes approximately ten days. After the processing is completed, you need to go to the post office and collect your login credentials which are generated by the system.
Can I change the login credentials?
Yes, in fact you must do so. For the first time, you are allotted an Internet Banking user-id, user password and transaction password which you are required to change immediately for your first transaction. (Subsequently, you can change the passwords frequently for safety).
What if I forget my password or username?
You need to click on the ‘forgot password’ link. The computer will guide you. The new password created by you will be sent to you at your email address.
To change your username you need to visit your post office and re-register yourself.
What are the transactions possible through the internet banking services of India Post?

The portal is certified and secure. Information that is sent or received is encrypted for security purposes. However, you still need to update your password frequently, avoid phishing threats by following the security measures listed on the India Post website.
